Junior Beef Heifer Show

Tie-outs are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Absolutely no
tie-outs are permitted on trailers in rock area.
Violators will
be asked to leave the fairgrounds.
Exhibitors must
provide bedding for livestock.

refer to General Rules and Regulations for show eligibility rules.
All cattle must be pre-entered.
Exhibitors are allowed to enter no more than two (2) animals in any one lot.
All
exhibitors must purchase exhibitors tickets.
Fees -
Exhibitors tickets - $7.00.
Animals
must be exhibited by owner unless exhibitor has two animals in class.
No cattle or tack will be allowed in before 10:00 p.m. on August 6th.
Animals must be in place by 12:00 Noon and checked in before 2:00 p.m. on
Thursday, August 8th.
Commercial Heifer measured 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8th.
Animals tie-out at 10:00 p.m. or at the discretion of the director.
A member may show no more than four (4) animals per breed,
not bred by exhibitor in the show. All premium money will be used and individual
prize money will depend on the number of animals shown. Animals will not be
grouped but will all be considered one group for allocation of premium. All
worthy animals will receive a blue participation ribbon. Group money will not
exceed $17. The five highest placings will receive: 1st - $7; 2nd - $6; 3rd -
$5; 4th ‑ $4; 5th - $3, in addition to group money.
COW BUDDIES
Saturday, August 9th, 2008 - 8:30 a.m.
Class is
for children not yet eligible for 4-H. All entries will receive a participation
ribbon. Must show a heifer calf.
SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES
Showmanship Class, time to be announced, is for people and animals who will
exhibit or who have exhibited in individual classes of the Junior Beef Show.
Exhibitors must own the animal shown and must be shown in the Junior Show.
Animals shown in Showmanship must be females.

CLASS 5 - COMMERCIAL HEIFER SHOW

Greene County Livestock Association
Open to any non-registered heifers of any beef breed or
combinations of beef breeds.
Only weaned calves may be shown.
Heifers must have their "Milk Teeth" and no heifer will show
that does not have milk teeth. Show superintendent will be responsible for
checking teeth on all commercial heifer entries and his decision will be final.
Heifers must be owned by exhibitors and under their care and
management by May 1 of current year, per rules regarding Junior Heifer Shows.
Exhibitors will not be allowed to show more than four (4)
animals in the show.
Heifers will be assigned to maximum 5 lots based on hip
height measurements.
Heifers shown in the commercial show are not eligible to be
shown in the registered show. Registered animals will not be allowed to show in
this show.
Entries for this show must be submitted on a special
entry form found inside the livestock catalog.
Heifers must be permanently identified by a legible tattoo in
both ears and ear tag.
Commercial heifer classes will be judged following the
completion of Junior Beef Heifer Show.
Heifers measured between 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August
8th.
